  • Breast Reconstruction Before and After 01

This patient is a lovely 40 year old female who presented to us several years after “completing” breast reconstruction by another surgeon. She noted that she underwent left mastectomy for breast cancer, as well as prophylactic right mastectomy followed by implant-based reconstruction. Her main complaints included that she was still very asymmetric, and that her reconstruction was not actually complete. She subsequently underwent revision of the right breast with removal and replacement of implant, right inframammary fold reconstruction/elevation with Alloderm, and change to a textured silicone implant. Once the ‘height’ of the implants was made symmetric, she then underwent left nipple-areolar reconstruction. The nipple was created from her own breast tissues with a “C-V Flap”; her areola was created from a skin graft taken from the groin area. The groin skin was chosen for this because of the excellent color match to her native areolar tissues. Now she is ready to have tattooing of the left nipple, as a finishing touch. She is extremely pleased with her reconstruction, and notes that she finally feels like a woman again.

  • Breast Reconstruction Before and After 02

Ever wonder what breast reconstruction looks like before the final stage has been completed? This is a lovely 50 year old female who unfortunately developed an aggressive right breast carcinoma. She underwent right mastectomy, left prophylactic mastectomy along with immediate reconstruction with Alloderm and medium height tissue expanders. She underwent expansion of her devices in the office with saline solution, and then was taken back to have her expanders removed and replaced with silicone implants. Currently, she is scheduled to complete her reconstruction with creation of a nipple and areola.Ever wonder what breast reconstruction looks like before the final stage has been completed?
